Hyperbaric & Wound Center at Davis Hospital Earns National Accreditation
UHMS accreditation brings Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recognition

The Hyperbaric & Wound Center at Davis Hospital and Medical Center has achieved national accreditation, signifying adherence to high standards of medical practice in hyperbaric medicine.
One of only six accredited hyperbaric facilities in Utah, the Hyperbaric & Wound Center at Davis Hospital treats patients with chronic, non-healing or difficult wounds with hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other wound treatment options. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy uses a special pressure chamber to increase the amount of oxygen in the blood and promote healing, especially in infected wounds.
“National accreditation typically means greater prominence and prestige among our peers across the country, which is true,” said Kurt Forsyth, manager of the Hyperbaric & Wound Center at Davis Hospital and Medical Center. “But it is more important to us that accreditation signals we are providing top care to our patients and can provide that care to a greater segment of the community than ever before.”
The national accreditation was issued by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS), and it is recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The CMS recognition will expand treatment options for thousands of patients who could benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
