Davis Hospital Earns HealthInsight Award for Patient Satisfaction
Oct. 7, 2011
Davis Hospital and Medical Center has been honored for its successful efforts to enhance patient-focused services and increase patient satisfaction, receiving the 2011 HealthInsight Certificate of Recognition for achieving the greatest overall improvement in Patient Perceptions of Care. The award was presented at the annual awards dinner of the Utah Hospital Association on Oct. 6.
“Davis Hospital’s mission is to provide superior care and services that will improve the quality of life for the people and communities we serve,” said Mike Jensen, CEO, Davis Hospital and Medical Center. “This recognition validates that our priorities are correct and that our patients are the beneficiaries of those priorities. That’s very satisfying for everyone here.”
The HealthInsight Certificate of Recognition acknowledges providers who demonstrate the greatest improvement on publicly reported quality of care and patient perceptions of care data, as measured by the government-sponsored Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (HCAHPS).
HealthInsight is a private, nonprofit health care quality improvement organization. The 2011 Certificate of Recognition is based on a comparison of hospital performance data between the periods of Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, 2009, and Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, 2010. The data is posted at www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov.
