Davis Hospital Receives Award of Excellence
HealthInsight Award Recognizes High Patient Satisfaction Scores at Davis Hospital
September, 23, 2010
Davis Hospital and Medical Center has been awarded the 2010 HealthInsight Quality Award in recognition for its achievements in providing outstanding patient care. The award was presented by HealthInsight, a private, nonprofit quality improvement organization, during the Utah Hospital Association’s annual awards dinner Thursday.
Specifically, the HealthInsight Quality Award recognizes hospitals that achieve high levels of performance on care related to publicly reported quality measures in four significant areas of care: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical infection prevention. The clinical topics measured for the awards have been designated as national healthcare priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
“We are proud to accept the HealthInsight Quality Award, which highlights the extraordinary, personalized care that our team of physicians, nurses, technicians and administrators constantly provide to our patients,” said Mike Jensen, CEO at Davis Hospital and Medical Center. “They regularly go the extra mile in our mission of becoming a health care center of excellence and in meeting national quality standards.”
HealthInsight’s awards program helps to promote transparency in healthcare by benchmarking patient satisfaction. To receive an award, a hospital must rank at or above the 75th percentile in the HealthInsight national rankings based on the Hospital Compare data updated in June 2010. The data is posted at www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov, reflecting the period of Oct. 1, 2008- Sept. 30, 2009.
