Davis Hospital Employee Receives Prestigious National Award
Layton, Utah, October 28, 2008 – Davis Hospital and Medical Center employee Andy Dawson has received the 2008 IASIS Healthcare Chairman’s Award. The award, which is the highest honor an employee can receive, recognizes employees who demonstrate commitment to community service in addition to excellence on the job. IASIS Healthcare is the parent company of Davis Hospital.
Winners of the IASIS Healthcare Chairman’s Award are selected based on commitment to community causes or activities, recognition among co-workers for contributions to the community, and commitment to patient care and work performance.
Dawson is the Assistant Director of Radiology at Davis Hospital. He presently serves as a West Point City Councilman, and on the West Point City Planning Commission. He is also active with Social Services regarding adoption processes, and has assisted many adoptive families over his years of service. He is active in the scouting program by being a mentor for merit badges. Dawson has been an employee of Davis Hospital for 12 years.
In appreciation for his contributions, IASIS will donate $1,000 to “Sealants for
Smiles”, a non-profit organization for placing sealants on teeth for underprivileged
children in Title I schools, on Dawson’s behalf.
The awards were presented on October 25 during a special ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.
